COMMON PROBLEMS...
Water coming into the home (Water Ingress)
With the British weather being what it is, water ingress is one of the main remedial projects we undertake. Wet patches showing on your ceilings and walls can ruin the decoration of your home, and this can be even more upsetting if you have just purchased a new property.
Some causes are:
- Damage to the cavity tray – a waterproof membrane within the brickwork above openings. Our highly trained and experienced teams will remove the bricked area and replace the damaged membrane, repairing the problem at its source.
- Defects in the roofing materials – our skilled roofers will identify the cause of the problem and repair it at source.
- Badly fitted or damaged lead which is supposed to stop rainwater coming in between roof junctions – our teams will remove the surrounding roof area and fit new lead.
Once dampened areas have dried, we make good the internal area.
Foundations (Underpinning)
Underpinning is required when the structure of a property moves (also known as subsidence) and the foundations need to be repaired. Our team will excavate the soil beneath the existing foundation and replace it with new materials. In most cases, you will need to move out of the property while the work is carried out. But we will, of course, discuss timings with you so there’s no rush.
